Best Bike Upgrades

where-spend-money.jpg

So what are the best bike upgrades? There are certainly a lot of ways for us to spend money on our bikes, but here are a few of my favorite simple ways to improve the ride and fit of your bike.https://youtu.be/31Mnd_lk7goWhen people hear the words "bike upgrades" many have flashes of aero frame, super-light wheels, and lots of carbon parts. For most of us, though,a few well placed parts, and for not much money can make a huge difference.

Invest in decent shorts

I've been guilty of this one myself. I find a pair of bargain basement shorts on sale and grab a pair. Turns out they stink and are uncomfortable, but, hey, I saved money, right? Spending a little money on shorts can go a long way, and you don't need to spend a fortune -- I've not seen a tremendous benefit to the $400 shorts over the  the $120 pairs.

Your Handlebars can set you free

So the carbon parts craze is pretty ubiquitous and much of it we could do without. There are many circumstances where the carbon part isn't light, it isn't stiffer, and it doesn't have an appreciably better ride quality than the aluminum cousin. In my opinion, though, there are some carbon handlebars that are worth investing in because they do more to soften and smooth out our ride than an expensive frame does.See more in the video...Interested in more?
