What makes your bike seat uncomfortable?  Should it really hurt as much as it does?  Isn't pain a part of cycling, so saddle discomfort is normal, right? No, absolutely not.  Way too many cyclists put up with bike seat pain when they don't have to.https://youtu.be/xXIHBSe-zX4In order to eradicate saddle issues, we need to understand the anatomy of things down there, and it's fairly complex.  Pelvic structure and anatomy is tricky because this area is one of confluence -- it holds the major nerves and vessels from the spine as they progress to the legs; abdominal, spinal, and pelvic floor musculature must all work in concert to hold the trunk stable, provide a platform for the legs to work off, as well as support the organs of the digestive and elimination systems. Some very serious side effects are possible.  Irritation of the sitting surfaces is bad enough, but many cyclists suffer from numbness, tingling and other nerve-related issues.  This can get quite grave quickly since these structures are sensitive and can be permanently impacted.  Let numbness go on too long and you could be left with permanent damage that leads to things not working properly down there.  Nobody wants that.Too often riders look to the saddle when trying to fix the problem.  More often the issue lies with the handlebar setup.  If your bar position -- its horizontal and vertical distance from the seat -- doesn't match your strength and flexibility it will put your pelvis outside of its optimal position and your balance on the bike will be affected. So take a look at the video, and feel free to comment here or on YouTube if you have any questions...
